Mary Mager Obituary
Mary A. Mager, of Pickerington, OH, formerly of Matamoras, PA passed away Saturday, May 4th 2008 in Pickerington, OH. She was 87.
She was born June 13, 1921 in Port Jervis, the daughter of the late Peter and Martha Sigreto Mager. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Robert H. Mager.
Mary was a 1939 graduate of Port Jervis High School. She was a life long resident of Matamoras until declining health required a move with family to Ohio. Mary retired from Kolmar Laboratories in 1983. She was a long time member of St Joseph's R.C. Church in Matamoras. She was also a member of the Mt Carmel Society and the Matamoras Fire Dept Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by son, Michael; daughter-in-law, Michele of Pickerington, OH; her granddaughters, Dr. Gennifer Bernstein (Mager) of Somerville, MA and Jessica Mager of Pickerington, OH; sister, Mrs. Angie Butterfield of Johnson, NY; brother, John Sigreto of Port Jervis, and dear nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Friends may call Wednesday, October 8, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Gray Parker Funeral Home, 100 E. Main St, Port Jervis, NY 12771.
The funeral will be Thursday, October 9, with a 9:15 a.m. prayer at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. in St Joseph's Church, Matamoras, 307 Ave. F., Matamoras, PA 18336. Burial will be in St Mary's Cemetery, Port Jervis, NY.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Memory to the OSU Foundation, Attn: Alzheimer's Research, PO Box 183112, Columbus Ohio 42318-3112.
