John Nawrocki Obituary

Greenville, NY

Formerly of Monroe, NY

John Anthony Nawrocki of Greenville, NY and a former lifelong resident of Monroe, NY, died unexpectedly at his residence on Saturday, October 18, 2008. He was 44 years of age.

The son of John A. Nawrocki and Holly Mae Walsh Nawrocki he was born on October 5, 1964 in New York City.

John was a Youth Service Counselor for Pius XII Youth and Family Services in Chester, NY.

John grew up in the Washingtonville School District as a child and participated in many Athletic events as a young man, such as the Bear Mountain Hockey League, Highland Falls Raiders and Pascack Valley Hockey League. He also played semi-pro Hockey for the Duchess Blues.

John was active in coaching with the Minisink Valley Youth Soccer League, the Wallkill Soccer League and Pine Bush High School Varsity Soccer.

John was a loving father and a great friend who loved to laugh. His passion was working with youth in his public and private life. His absence leaves a hole in our hearts.

He is survived by Jacqueline Bennett at home and their son, Derek also at home; parents, John and Holly Nawrocki of Monroe, NY; sister, Dawn Marie Ducchini of Sacramento, CA; niece, Stephanie; nephews, Joseph and John; uncle, Victor Nawrocki and Joann Nawrocki and his special cousins, Lynn, Peters, and Victor.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 23, during the hours of 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers, 139 Stage Road, Monroe, NY 10950.

A Funeral Mass will be offered on Friday, October 24 at 10 a.m. at St. Columba R.C. Church, 29 High Street, Chester, NY 10918. Interment will be private and at the convenience.

Memorial contributions in John's memory to the Derek Nawrocki Educational Fund, c/o Key Bank 74, Brookside Avenue, P.O. Box 581, Chester, NY 10918, attention Heather Foley would be greatly appreciated by the family.
