Gloria Torres Obituary

Marlboro, NY

Gloria Velazquez Torres, entered into rest on Tuesday, October 21, 2008 in St. Francis Hospital, Poughkeepsie, NY. She was 78.

On January 26, 1930, she was born in Santurce, Puerto Rico to Julio and Felicita Melendez Velazquez. Both parents predeceased their daughter. Her loving husband, Modesto Torres, Jr., predeceased her on June 30, 2007. She was further predeceased by Martin M. Torres, and her son-in-law, Rudy Zamenick, who both entered into rest in 2001.

She was a resident of Marlboro, NY, after residing in New Windsor, NY, for many years. Gloria was a member of the New Windsor American Legion as well as Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Highland, NY.

Survivors include one daughter, Amanda Zamenick and her companion, William Russertt of Marlboro; one sister, Marina Serrano of Brookville, FL; one granddaughter, four grandsons, three great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Amanda and family,
I am so sorry to hear of this tragic loss of you mom/grandma.My heart and prayers go out to you all.I know how much she loved you all.
We loved her too and she was like a mom to me and and my son Brandon Called her Aunt Gloria.
It was a terrible shock to us, and we will miss her so much.She was a Spunky lady and loved by my family.
