Formerly of Newburgh, NY

John W. Mac Nary, 53, formerly of Newburgh, NY, died October 21, 2008 in Brandon, VT.

John was born August 12, 1955 in Newburgh, NY and was the adopted son of Robert and Muriel Mac Nary, Sr.

John was a student of the Newburgh public schools and after attending Newburgh Free Academy enlisted in the U.S. Army. After serving in the military, he was active in construction and heavy equipment construction. John worked in many states, including Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and California. In 2000, he moved to Vermont and for the past two years had resided in Brandon, VT. He enjoyed the arts and was a talented musician and artist. John was a born again Christian. He had a big heart and will be missed by his friends and family.

Surviving relatives include his mother, Muriel Mac Nary of New Windsor, NY; brothers: Robert Mac Nary, Jr. of Denver, CO, David Mac Nary of Gardiner, NY and Alan Mac Nary of Williamston, SC. He is also survived by several uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Friday, October 31, at 11:30 a.m. at the Cornwall Baptist Church, 213 Main St., Cornwall, NY 12518.

Uncle John, I will truly miss your frequent calls that came when I needed someone to talk to. You built up my faith and reallly knew what to say when I was feeling lost.
