Victor Auchard Obituary

Formerly of Monroe, NY

Victor E. Auchard of Rockwood, TN, a former longtime resident of Monroe, NY and Mesa, AZ, and a 62-year Steamfitter for Local 373, died October 22, 2008 in Rockwood, TN. He was 88 years of age.

The son of the late Felix and Helene Freund Auchard, he was born in Jersey City, New Jersey on April 14, 1920.

Victor was a proud veteran of World War II, having served with the 8th Air Force, 445th Bombardment Group, Tibenham, England. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #8858 and Post #488 in Monroe.

A family statement is simply: "He was the Best Dad in the World."

He is survived by his loving wife, Mary E. Thorn Auchard, at home; four sisters: Eleanor, Margaret, Gloria and Theresa; his children: Irene and her husband, Howard Peters of Mesa, AZ, Darlene and her husband, Peter DeMarmels of Warwick, NY, Victor and Linda Auchard of Central Valley, NY and Brian and Anita Auchard of Rockwood, TN. His nine grandchildren: Cindy, Nikki, Stacey, Marlene, Arlene, Aaron, Angie, Justin and Bridgette, along with his great-grandchildren: Amanda, Howie, Abbie, Joshua, Lyndsay, Caleb, Jacob and Tim, and 25 nieces and nephews also survive him.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 27, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers, 139 Stage Rd., Monroe, NY 10950.

Services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, October 28, at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Orange County Veterans Cemetery, 111 Craigville Rd., Goshen, NY.

Memorial contributions in Victor's name to any local Veterans Organization would be greatly appreciated by the family.
