James Stanmyer Obituary

High Falls - James D. Stanmyer, a beloved husband, father, son and brother died Friday, October 12, 2007 at Benedictine Hospital in Kingston. He was 51 years old.

James was born August 18, 1956 in Pittsburgh, Pa., he was the son of the late Joseph Stanmyer, and Patricia Kramer Blake, who survives him. He married Anne Gazzara July 7, 1984 in New Paltz. James lived most of his life in the Mid-Hudson Valley area of New York. He was also president of and a partner in the Hudson Valley Internet and ASC computer business in New Paltz. James enjoyed baseball (the Mets), football (the Giants), scuba diving and a fine glass of scotch but the main love and focus of his life was his family.

James was well known in Ulster County for his patience with the less technically literate customers of his internet service provider business, spending hours "getting people connected". He found his greatest satisfaction in the accomplishments of his children.

He is survived by: his wife Anne (Gazzara) Stanmyer, a daughter, Kaitlin Stanmyer, and a son Andrew Stanmyer- both of High Falls. He is also survived by his mother Patricia (Kramer) Blake and stepfather John Blake of Ambler, Pa.; brother & sister-in-law, Eric & Chris Stanmyer of North Oxford, Mass., brother & sister-in-law, Robert & Connie Stanmyer of Stone Ridge, N.Y., and brother & sister-in-law, Thomas & Susan Stanmyer of New Paltz, NY; sister-in-law & brother-in-law, Jessica & Greg Monahan of VA; and numerous cousins, nephews, nieces, aunts and uncles.

A memorial gathering for friends and family will be held at the Copeland Funeral Home, 162 South Putt Corners Road, New Paltz, NY on Monday, October 15 from 5:30-7 p.m. Cremation will take place in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Newburgh Memorials donations can be made to the American Lung Association, 61 Broadway, New York, NY 10006.
