Elizabeth Sager Obituary
Daughter of the late George and Ann Elizabeth Smith Hillman, she was born July 23, 1938 in Newburgh. She graduated from Mt. St. Mary High School in 1956 and from St. Francis Nursing School in 1959. On January 17, 1960 she married David L. Sager, who survives her at home.
A family statement reads: "Betty Ann was passionate about life and was grateful for its many blessings. She considered her family to be her richest gift and that they gave her an extraordinary sense of pride. She will be deeply missed."
In addition to her devoted and loving husband of 47 years, David, she is also survived by her loving children: David L. Sager II and his wife, Kim, of Wallkill, Andrea L. Karnavezos and her husband, Thomas, of New Windsor, and Beth Ann Miller and her husband, Thomas, of Wallkill; her adored grandchildren: David L. III & Justin Sager, Sophia & Pano Karnavezos, Angelina, Kayla & Rosemarie Miller; brother, Bernard Hillman and his long-time companion, Joann Cardillo; mother-in-law, Marjorie Gendreau; sister-in-law, Carmela Hillman; brothers-in-law, William Sager and his wife, Jane, Stephen 'Ste' Sager and his wife, Bernadette; many nieces, nephews, and a large group of extended family and friends.
Her brother, Joseph Hillman, predeceased Betty Ann.
Visitation will be held from 3-7 p.m. on Sunday, October 21st at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 22nd at St. Patrick's Church in Newburgh. Entombment will follow in Cedar Hill Mausoleum, Newburgh.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Betty Ann may be made to Hospice of Orange & Sullivan Counties, 800 Stony Brook Ct., Newburgh, NY 12550
