Frank Draganchuk Obituary
The son of Ann Elchyshen Draganchuk and the late Frank Draganchuk, he was born on October 27, 1942 in Monticello, N.Y.
Frank grew up in Woodridge, N.Y. and played baseball for Fallsburg Little League and Fallsburg Central Schools. Frank proudly served his country in the United States Army as a peace keeper following the Korean War. He worked as a corrections officer for Otisville Facility for over 20 years.
Frank was a passionate fisherman and he loved to share his joy and knowledge with everyone he met. Some of his favorite fishing holes included: Old Falls in Fallsburg, N.Y.; Cape Hatteras, N.C.; Lake Ontario, N.Y.; Green Point, Long Island; The Salmon River in Pulaski, N.Y.; Sandy Point, N.J.; Cabo San Lucas, Mexico; and Eluthera, Bahamas. He was a member of the Southern Catskill Anglers. He also was a lifelong New York Yankees fan.
Frank is survived by his wife of 39 years, Maureen P. Draganchuk, at home; his daughter, Denise D. Bills and her husband, Michael J. of Virginia; one grandson, Sean Michael and two granddaughters, Madeline Joanna and Emily Grace, also of Virginia, as well as his mother, Ann Elchyshen Draganchuk of Middletown.
Frank is also survived by one uncle, Steven Draganchuk of Green Field Park, N.Y.; two aunts, Janet Girton of Melbourne, Fla. and Edith Daganne of Spring Hill, Fla.; two brothers-in-law, Joseph Pitkin and his wife, Jeanne of Hagman, N.Y. and David Pitkin of Chestertown, N.Y.; three sisters-in-law: Susan Lee of Clifton Park, N.Y., Nancy Clark and her husband, Christopher of Berwyn, Pa., and Jacqueline Van Noy of Edmonds, Wash., as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Frank's family will receive friends from 2:30 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, October 27, at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Ave., Middletown, NY 10940.
A celebration of Frank's life will begin at 3 p.m. at the funeral home. Cremation was held privately.
Because of his own connection to gun safety in schools, memorial contributions may be made in Frank's name to The Firearm Safety and Marksmanship Outdoor Adventure Program, c/o Pine Bush High School, Route 302, Pine Bush, NY 12566.

I just learned from my mother Ann Proyect that Frank "Butch" Draganchuk just died. Butch was my next door neighbor in Woodridge growing up and worked for my father as a delivery boy in the late 1950s. Butch was a really good-hearted person that I have the fondest memories of, even though I lost track of him after I went to college in 1961. My condolences to Maureen, who I never met and to his mother Ann "Chisie" Draganchuk.

I was very sorry to hear of Frank's passing. I would like to offer my deepest condolences to you and Dee. Frank was like a brother to me and I will miss him dearly.
We shared many happy moments traveling and fishing together over the past ten years. Butch was a loyal friend, I will miss him. I'm sorry I couldn't get to the Wake or service but I'm in Florida and could not get away.

While there are no words that will truely comfort you, please accept my sincere condolances. Butchy and I shared many likes and fishing was certanly one of them. As kids we fished with his father many times. On the L.L. Braves he was a star catcher; there was no getting by him.

Maureen.... What a shock..... Frank ( he was always Butch to me )....we literally grew up together more than 60 years ago we played " guns " in the woods nearby, sought out piles of topsoil to play " trucks " and hit " flys " to each other on the local school ballfield.... such memories......my deepest sympathy...
