Catherine Flanagan Obituary

New Windsor - Catherine B. Flanagan, of New Windsor, entered into rest Tuesday, October 23, 2007 in St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital, Cornwall Campus. She was 83.

Daughter of the late Benjamin and Margaret Hogan Bernstein, she was born March 9, 1924 in Newburgh.

She married John J. Flanagan on April 19, 1953 in St. Patrick's Church, Newburgh, who survives at home.

In addition to her loving husband of 54 years, John, she is survived by her loving children, Karen Whitaker and her husband Jerry of Mashpee, Mass., John Flanagan and his wife Gloria of Cornwall, Kevin Flanagan and his wife Teresa of New Windsor; sister, Frances DeRobertis and her husband Leonard of Newburgh; grandchildren, Erin, Casey and Kiley Whitaker, John G., Caitlin and Ashley Flanagan; great-granddaughter, Amelia Whitaker; nephews, Henry and Patrick Corwin.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, October 25 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, October 26 at St. Patrick's Church, Newburgh.

Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, New Windsor.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Catherine may be made to St. Patrick's Soup Kitchen, c/o St. Patrick's Church, 55 Grand St., Newburgh, NY 12550.
