Frances Wiecek Obituary

Florida - Frances Wiecek of Florida, N.Y., a lifetime area resident and retired longtime owner of Best Beauty Shop Warwick, N.Y., and a retired secretary for the T.S. Purta Funeral Home, entered into rest on Tuesday, October 23, 2007 at Schervier Pavilion Warwick. She was 88. The daughter of the late Andrew J. Sr. and Stefania Gurda Bogdanski, she was born on March 8, 1919 in Pine Island, N.Y. She was married to the late Victor Wiecek who predeceased her in 1976. Frances liked to dance, garden, travel and entertain family and friends. She enjoyed being a member of the Florida Senior Citizens. Her warm smile and loving, generous spirit will be greatly missed. Survivors include: four sisters Antoinette O'Keefe of Stony Point, N.Y., Anne Brozdowski & husband John of Middletown, N.Y., Stella Mileski & husband Julian of Norwich, Conn., Teresa Pawlikowski & husband Walter of Point Pleasant, N.J.; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers Andrew J. Bogdanski Jr., Stanley Bogdanski and Bernard J. Bogdanski who was killed in WW II; and one sister Rose Nichols Morgenthaler. There will be no visitation. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 26 at St. Joseph Church, Florida, N.Y., with the Reverend Joseph Tokarczyk officiating. Interment will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Warwick Valley Humane Society, P.O. Box 61, Warwick, NY 10990 or to the charity of one's choice. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the T.S. Purta Funeral Home.
