Ralph Eggler Obituary
The son of the late John and Emma Mennett Eggler, he was born June 6, 1911 in the Town of Bethel.
Ralph grew up on Swiss Hill in Jeffersonville, later lived in Callicoon Center before moving to White Sulphur Springs. He was a farmer in the Callicoon Center area and later worked as a laborer in Kohler's Lumber Co. and also for the Town of Liberty. He was a member of the White Sulphur Springs United Methodist Church and a former member of the Callicoon Center Fire Dept.
In a family statement, it was said that Ralph was a family man who loved his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He passed on strong moral and work values to family members and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include one son John H. "Jack" Eggler and his wife Nancy; one daughter, Joyce Teed; two daughters-in-law, Doris Eggler and Daphne Cox Eggler all of White Sulphur Springs; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife of 67 years, Louise Graff Eggler in 2000; his son, Walter Graff Eggler; a son-in-law, Leon J. Teed; his brothers, Leo and Casper Eggler; his sisters, Marie Norris and Sadie Chellis; a sister-in-law, Mary Eggler and brothers-in-law, Roy Norris and Edwin Chellis.
Visitation will be Monday, Oct. 29 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m in the Harris Funeral Home, West Street at Buckley, Liberty.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, Oct. 30 at 11 a.m. in the White Sulphur Springs United Methodist Church, Route 52, White Sulphur Springs. The Rev. Bridgette LeConey will officiate.
Burial will be in the Laurel Hill Cemetery, White Sulphur Springs.
Memorial contributions in his name may be made to the Orange-Sullivan Hospice, 800 Stony Brook Ct., Newburgh, NY 12550 or the White Sulphur Springs United Methodist Church, PO Box 308, White Sulphur Springs, NY 12787.
