Stanley Conklin Obituary

Suffern - Stanley B. Conklin, a lifelong resident of the area, passed away October 28, 2007, with his loving family by his side, at the age of 77. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Barbara Conklin; his three cherished children: Michael and his wife, Thelma of Littiz, Pa., Donna Stecz and her husband, Nick of Suffern, Thomas and his wife, Eileen of Suffern, and 13 grandchildren. Stanley was a veteran of the Korean War with the 5th Regimental Combat team. He was also employed by Avon Products for 35 years and Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home for 40 years. Stanley was a 56-year member of the Tallman Fire Department, Life member of the Rockland County Fireman's Assn. and the Hudson Valley Fireman's Assn. He was also a life member of the Suffern High School Alumni Assn., as well as a member of the Historical Society of the Palisades Interstate Parkway Region. Friends and family are invited to call on Tuesday, October 30, from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m., at the Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home, 177 Rt. 59, Suffern, NY 10901; 845-357-0423. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 31, at Sacred Heart Church in Suffern, with his interment to follow at the Airmont Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the Tallman Fire Dept., 289 Rt. 59, Tallman, NY 10982, the American Diabetes Assn., N.Y. Office, 333 Seventh Ave., 17th Floor, New York, NY 10001, or Parkinson Research at www.PDF.org.
