Robert Doran Obituary
Born in Middletown, N.Y. on May 7, 1932, he was the son of Thomas J and Edna Vandermark Doran. He was the widower of Tina Oliva Doran.
He served in the U.S. Army as a Corporal during the Korean War. He retired as a Mail Carrier with Middletown Post Office. After retiring, Bob worked as a Starter for the Town of Wallkill Golf Club, which he enjoyed for 12 seasons.
He received his 50-year member badge from McQuoid Engine and Ladder Company #3 on Friday. He had served as a McQuoid Captain in the early 60's; was a 55-year member of the Benevolent Protective Order of Elk #1097, and was a communicant of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
He is survived by his son, Robert J. Doran Jr. and his wife, Colleen; granddaughter, Kelly and grandson, Patrick, all of Deerfield Beach, Fla.; his sister, Janet Sweet and her husband, Lloyd of Middletown, and his loving companion, Patricia Traphagen of Middletown.
Friends may call today, Tuesday, October 30, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Morse Funeral Home Inc., 33 Railroad Ave., Middletown, NY 10940, with Elk Lodge services at 7:30 p.m., followed by Fire Company services at 7:45 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Middletown, NY, at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, October 31. Interment with military honors will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery Middletown, N.Y.
The family requests donations in Bob's name to: Parkinson's Disease Foundation, 1359 Broadway, Suite 1509, New York, NY 10018.
