Dorothy Hale Obituary

Beacon - Dorothy Joan Hale, a life-long resident of the area until the last eleven years when she became a resident of the Town of Newburgh, died Sunday, November 11, 2007, at Wingate at Beacon. She was 85 years old. Born in Beacon, on July 7, 1922, she was the daughter of Philip & Mary Kuvnic Petucka. She married Jack Arnold Hale, who preceded her in death on December 6, 1991. Mrs. Hale was employed at the former US Rubber Company, Beacon, and Sonotone, Cold Spring. She enjoyed bowling at the Southern Dutchess Bowl in Beacon. She is survived by: her son Jack E. and daughter-in-law, Jody M. Hale of New burgh; her grandson, Jack R. Hale of Newburgh; brother, Edward Petucka of California; sister, Betty Ruf of Beacon; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Her sisters, Helen Jankowski, Mary Bedell, and Ann Trautz predeceased her. Viewing for the family and friends will be held on Thursday, November 15, from 9-10:30 a.m. at Halvey Funeral Home, Inc., 24 Willow Street, Beacon. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at St. Joachim's Church, 61 Leonard Street, Beacon.Interment will follow in Cold Spring Cemetery, 33 Peekskill Road, Cold Spring.
