Deborah Cappiello Obituary

Slate Hill, NY - Deborah Kay Cappiello, 53, of Slate Hill, died Sunday, November 25, 2007 while in the company of family members at her home after a year-long battle from MMMT (tumor). She was under hospice care at her home.

Born in Petersburg, Va. on August 5, 1954, she was the daughter of Christine Little and Richard Winfield, who both died from cancer.

Deborah has lived in Slate Hill for 30 years, has volunteered for 13 years at the Parish Hall and was dedicated to her church, Grace United Methodist Church, Ridgebury. She lived a life full of spirit, always giving unto others, a caregiver and housewife to her family and supported friends who are church members.

Survivors are her husband, William; her two daughters, Rosemary and Melanie; her grandson, Matthew; her sister, Joyce Starks of Pontiac, Ill.; her close friend, Joyce Christopher of Colonial Heights, Va.

Friends are invited to call on Wednesday, November 28 from 7-9 p.m. at Morse Funeral Home, Inc., 33 Railroad Ave., Middletown. Funeral services will be Thursday, November 29 at 11 a.m. in Grace United Methodist Church, Ridgebury, N.Y. with the Reverend Kevin Mulqueen officiating. Following cremation, burial will be in Orange County Veterans Cemetery, Goshen.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grace United Methodist Church, 884 Ridgebury Rd, Slate Hill, NY 10973 or to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties, 800 Stony Brook Curt, Newburgh, NY 12550.

Arrangements are under the care of Morse Funeral Home Inc., Middletown.

dear rosemary, melanie, bill and matthew,
my thoughts and prayers are with you daily. i am deeply saddened at the loss of my friend debbie. debbie and i met at petersburg high school here in virginia around 1970. she was a good and sweet friend and i always enjoyed her friendship and was sorry when she and bill and the two girls melanie and rosemary moved away to slate hill new york. i pray that god will be with you at this difficult time in your lives. please keep in touch rosemary and let me know how all of you are doing. i love you all. love, joyce
