Reidun Sofie Lindstrom

Warwick, NY - Reidun Sofie Lindstrom, of Warwick, died on November 26, 2007 at Schervier Pavilion. She was 80 years old.

Born on April 6, 1927 in Arendal, Norway, she was the daughter of Stanley and Hedvig Jacobsen.

After World War II, she married the love of her life, her husband John R. Lindstrom and they sailed together around the world on Merchant Marine ships. She became a United States citizen in 1952, and lived in Teaneck, New Jersey. In 1962, she moved to Montvale, New Jersey where she and John raised their three sons. They settled in their lakeside home in Greenwood Lake in 1979, where they spent many happy years together.

Before retiring, Reidun worked for Western Union, Prentice Hall, Ingersoll Rand, and Mercedes Benz. She was a member of the Sons of Norway, a member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Greenwood Lake, and a big Yankee fan. During the 1970's, she was a fixture at Pascack Hills High School wrestling matches.

She is survived by her sons: Bruce and his wife Wendy of Montville, N.J., John and his wife Doreen of Warwick, N.Y. and Howard and his wife Lori of Wayne, N.J.; her grandchildren: Cole, Chelsea, John, Kathryn, Jennifer, Daniel, Brianne and Kyle; brothers: Bjorn Jacobsen, Rolf Jacobsen and Kjell Jacobsen, all of Norway. She was predeceased by her husband, John and her brother, Arthur Jacobsen.
