Beverly Irish Obituary

Montgomery, NY - Beverly J. Irish, formerly of Cortlandt Manor, N.Y., widow of James W. Irish Jr. and mother of six, died Sunday, December 2, 2007 in Newburgh after a long and valiant battle with breast and ovarian cancer. She was 77.

The daughter of the late Alonzo Alfonso Collins and Florence Ruf Collins, she was born in 1930 in Vermillion, South Dakota.

Beverly was a longtime member of The United Methodist Church of Peekskill. She was dearly loved by her family and all who knew her; she will be greatly missed.

She is survived by: brother, Richard & wife Sherri Collins of Sioux City, Iowa; daughters, Beverly & husband Johnny O'Brien of Montgomery, N.Y., Wendy & husband Rob O'Shea of Johnstown, N.Y.; son, Wesley & wife Peggy Irish of Redwood City, Calif.; daughters, Kim Soper of Montgomery, N.Y., Karen & husband Joe Smith of Orlando, Fla., Kathy & husband Dennis Tianello of Spencerport, N.Y.; and her many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Visitation will be held Thursday, December 6 from 2-4 p.m. at the Overhiser Funeral Home, 78 Union St., Montgomery, NY 12549 with funeral services immediately following at the funeral home. The Reverend Mr. In Koo Chung will officiate. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, it is requested that donations to benefit cancer research be made to the "Leukemia & Lymphoma Society" and sent to Wesley Irish, 1022 Wilmington Way, Redwood City, CA 94062.
