Margaret Nelson Obituary

Otisville, NY - Margaret "Peggy" Nelson, a longtime area resident, died unexpectedly on Friday, November 30, 2007 at Scottsdale Healthcare North in Scottsdale, Ariz. She was 71 years old.

One of nine children born to the late Michael and Margaret Sullivan Leonard, ahe was born February 16, 1936 in the Bronx.

She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Peter Nelson Sr. at home; her children, Peggy Palermo and her husband, Daniel of Otisville, Patricia Scialabba and her husband, Louis of Otisville, Peter Nelson Jr. and his wife, Fran of Hopewell Junction, Daniel Nelson and his wife, Jodie of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Christine Cannizzaro and her husband, Bruce of LaGrangeville; fifteen grandchildren, Jackie, Nicole, Lauren, Danielle, Louis, Michael, Brian, Christina, Meagan, Diana, Dante John, Mckenzie, Ryan, Erica and Paige; two great-grandchildren, Allie and Bella; three sister, Patricia Leonard, Kathleen Leonard, and Mary Duhaime; one brother, John Leonard; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Maureen Leonard, Virginia Mariani; two brothers, Michael and Thomas Leonard.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 4 (today) from 7-9 p.m. and again on Wednesday, December 5 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown.

A Mass of Christian Burial will celebrated on Thursday, December 6 at 10:30 a.m. in Holy Name of Jesus RC Church, 45 Highland Avenue, Otisville. Burial will follow in the family plot in Holy Name Cemetery, Otisville.

Memorial donations in Peggy's name may be made to The Holy Name of Jesus RC Church Building Maintenance Fund, 45 Highland Avenue, Otisville, NY 10963.
