Charles Petersen Obituary
Greenwood Lake - Charles H. Petersen past away peacefully on Sunday, December 2, 2007 surrounded by family. He was 83 years young.
He was a resident of Edgewater, Fla. and was in the process of relocating back to Greenwood Lake to be with his family. Pop was a life-long artist who loved life and his family. He was a United States Veteran who served in the South Pacific during World War II as a Submariner. Pop loved metal detecting on the beach exploring for hidden treasures. He enjoyed meeting and talking to people from all over the country. Pop lived a full life and had many stories that he loved to share with family and friends. He had a kind heart and became a friend to all he came in contact with.
Pop is survived by his loving wife, Joan Marie Petersen; a sister, Anne Mueller; children: Charles & Linda Petersen, Deborah Petersen, Karen & Bill Sahler, Joe & Sue O'Brien, Tom & Mary O'Brien, and Cathy & Jeff Hoffman; grandchildren: Eric & Ellen Petersen, Kimberly & Ted Stiles, Courtney, Billy & Chelsea Sahler, Addison Kurz, Jeffrey Hoffman, Samantha & T.J. O'Brien, Joshua O'Brien, Ariel, & Jael and Christian Scharre; great-grandchildren: Mazie & Dylan Stiles, and Strummer & Vegas Petersen. A daughter, Joanne O'Brien, predeceased him.
Pop was a lover of animals and leaves behind his beloved pets Boo and Baby.
Funeral service's will be held at Grace Lutheran Church on Waterstone Road Saturday December 8th at 2 p.m.
Any memorial donations can be made in Pop's honor to the American Cancer Society.
Arrangements are under the direction of Strong-Basile Funeral Home, Warwick, N.Y. 845-986-4632
