I think about Dave often. I run through a slew of good memories and I can't help but smile as I think about some of the hilarious stuff he did. He was always so kind to me and he made it easy to be happy when he was around. I am lucky that I knew Dave Wright!

It seems like yesterday we were shooing him away while playing. I have a strong love for you and your family. Although I have only seen Dave a few times since high school, I can remember my last few conversations with him almost verbatim. I believe this to be because of how much Dave impressed me. I had the pleasure of playing basketball with Dave for more than four years. He was a great teammate and friend. I have not spoken with Dave since high school, but he has been in my thoughts since hearing the news. I know that words can never express how difficult it must be to have your husband, son, friend and father taken from you so quickly. I was never a close friend of Dave, but everytime I saw him, he treated me like I was one of his close friends. He was always encouraging to me and I was always happy to run across Dave and catch up a bit; because he always made me feel like he cared.

Kelli, Kennedy, Wright and Bell family,
Ever since hearing the news last week, I have been thinking about you and praying for you. Everyone that knows Dave loves Dave and the burden of your loss is felt by so many, including me.
Dave was an amazing example and always so fun to be around. I have known Dave since our days at Altara Elementary, and every single memory I have of him is a happy (and usually funny) one. My last photo of Dave was several years ago up at Snowbird; he and Sean showed up to our day of snowboarding decked out in 80's snow attire, including ear warmers. :) I will always smile and laugh at that memory.
The funeral service today was a very special experience and an inspiring celebration of his life. I felt so full of love for Dave and for all of you, and I hope you continue to feel that love.

Wright Family, I have been an aquaintance of Dave's through my work experience. I am thankful to have worked with Dave and his brothers, and am saddend to have heard of his passing. He has always been a man of integrity and I knew he would always be true to his word. He has left a great legacy in the way he represented his family and their heritage. I only know Dave from what my daughter, Audrey, has told me throughout her treasured friendship with Kelli. She has spoken of him so highly, and has often commented on what an amazing husband and father he is. In March of 1999, my husband and I were blessed to be able to travel to Santiago, Chile to pick up our missionary son Zach. Upon arriving at the airport we were met by two fine looking young men- Elder Anderson and Elder Wright. I don't know who had the biggest smiles on their faces- the two missionaries or the two parents! I can still remember seeing them standing there together and knowing that they had become great friends while serving the Lord and the people of Chile. We know that David continued to serve after his mission and that he has now embarked on yet another important mission. We are saddened at his passing and pray for comfort for all of your family at this time. We know that you all will be together again. We are sure that you have many wonderful memories of David and that they will help you through this lonely time. Oh Kelly, I don't even know you but my heart is breaking for you right now. I went to school with David from elementary to high school and he always seemed to have a smile on his face. He leaves a great legacy for your little Kennedy. Families are forever and you will be together again. The wait will be hard, but I hope that you can feel the prayers that are being offered for your family and the tender mercies of the Lord as he "holds" you during the journey. I can't imagine the pain that you are feeling, but I hope that this song can remind you that the Lord can and WILL hold you when you have weak moments, a good friend sent it to me when I lost my little girl.

David was my missionary prep teacher and it was because of his strong testimony and love for the gospel that helped me decide to serve a mission. Mike, Teresa, Kelli, Kennedy and Wright family. I'm so saddened by this news..how terrible. It reminds me of the untimely death of my brother Joe 3 years ago. He too left too soon and left behind a wife and daughter. I know first hand how difficult this is for immediate family members, relatives, and friends. In my greatest despair over Joe's death, the spirit comforted me with the words from Isaiah 53..."Surely He has born our grief and carried our sorrows..."
While the grieving process is so necessary, it is so comforting to know that He knows and He cares, and He understands...He can get us through anything...He knows "how to succor his people"...He paid the ultimate price for us that we might return, as families, to live with Him in eternal joy and peace. "How sweet the joy this sentence gives...I know that my Redeemer Lives."
I didn't know that Kelli had married into the "Wright Homes" family. When we lived in Utah, we lived in the same community as Dave's brother Derek. Derek was my son Logan's Junior Jazz assistant coach, and Logan was friends with Dave's nephew/Derek's son. Derek and family, you are in our thoughts and prayers. The church definitely connects us all in one way or another.
I know this loss won't be easy, but the Lord will make it such that it is not "too much to bear". I know he loves each one of us. As I stated in my letter to my brother Joe on the 1 year anniversary of his death, "I hope and pray that I can move forward with faith and righteous works that I can pay tribute to you through the life I lead".
Mike and Teresa, thank you for being who you are. I've always looked up to you both. Kelli & Kennedy, I'm sincerly sorry for your loss. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family!

We were shocked to here about this great loss. I remember David as a very energetic and fun toe-headed kid. Our family lived in their neighborhood for 10 years. The Wrights are a great family of faith and I pray that their faith will help them during this difficult time.
