Joseph Vasquez Obituary

Joseph G. Vasquez, Jr. Age 54, passed away on Monday morning, March 20, 2006. He was born to Amelia and Joseph Vasquez on Nov. 6, 1951. He was a native San Franciscan that loved the city. He joined the army at the age of 16 where he also earned his GED. After being honorably discharged from the army, Joseph became a painter by trade. He also had other talents he used to help others remodel their home - you name it, he could do it. He later went on to earn his HVAC credentials. Joe worked at the Holiday Inn as a stationary engineer until his last days with all of us. Joseph loved celebrating life with all his family and clamper buddies. Joseph was an extremely likable and loveable guy with a compassionate heart, and his family especially loved him. We will miss his unforgettable laugh and smile, and Joseph will always have a special place in each of our hearts. Joseph is survived by his father, Joseph, Sr.; stepmother, Blanca Vasquez; his son, Joseph Vasquez, Jr.; four sisters, Kath-erine Gallardo, Yvonne Britto, Raquel Vasquez, and Olga Blanco; two brothers, Stephen and Raymond Vasquez; and 16 nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to attend Funeral Services celebrating his life Sunday, March 26, 2006 at the Valencia St. Serra Mortuary, 1465 Valencia St., SF, CA. Viewing hours are from 2pm-9pm. The Rosary will begin at 5pm. The last viewing will be held on Monday, March 27 at 10:00am at the mortuary. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Kevin's Catholic Church, 704 Cortland Ave., SF, at 11:00 am on Monday, March 27. Burial will immediately follow the mass at Holy Cross Cemetery, Colma, CA.
