Frank Scally Obituary

Frank J. Scally At rest May 10, 2006, in Redwood City, CA. Born September 21, 1926 in Elizabeth, NJ. Graduate of St Mary's Grammar and High School, Elizabeth. Captained the Baseball team, played semi-pro baseball for several years for the Elizabeth Braves. U.S. Army Korean War Veteran. Avid player of tennis, dominoes and golf. Membership in Palo Alto Golf Club from 1967, elected president in 1995. Employed by Central Rail Road of NJ from 1944 to 1970. Transferred and opened new offices in San Francisco as Regional Sales Manager in 1965. Joined Southern Pacific RR in 1970 in the International and Inter-modal office. Retired from SP in 1982, and after several years in sales for a Japanese Inter-modal Carrier, retired in 1986. Resided in Foster City from 1973 to 2003 and then at Woodside Terrace in Redwood City. Member of Transportation Club of San Francisco, Commercial Club, World Trade Club and SIRS Branch #1, San Mateo. Frank is survived by his wife Dorothy; and brother, Jim Scally. A Vigil Service will be held at 4:00 pm Friday, May 12th at Crippen & Flynn Woodside Chapel, 400 Woodside Road, Redwood City. On Saturday, May 13th the procession will depart the funeral home by 1:00 PM for a 1:30 pm Service at Skylawn Memorial Park, Hwy 92, at Skyline Blvd., San Mateo. Frank will be dearly missed by his many friends and loved ones.

I only knew Frank for a few years, through the Sirs #1 domino group. He was the best player there and I was happy to have had the oportunity to know him.
