Dear Julie, Tim, and the Arnott family,
I just, recently, learned of Amy's death. I was so shocked and saddened. I met Amy (through Julie) when she was just a teenager. I was very close to Julie for many years and so I spent quite a bit of time with Amy, her mother and her sisters. Julie and I lost touch over the years and I am sorry about that. I offer all of you who knew and loved Amy my whole-hearted condolences. I am sorry for your loss and I will keep you in my prayers.

Tim,
The two things I most remember and treasure about Amy as Director: she ran, far and away, the most fun, happiest, most pleasant rehearsals that I have ever been privileged to be part of; also, that large casts held absolutely no terror for her ("Cast of 107?" "Call Amy!"). We will miss her. Deeply. And extendedly.

Helene, Beth, Enie, Julie and Susie: My deepest sympathy to all of you. Memories of Amy from high school, working together at the library, and specifically time spent with all of you, are steadfast in my heart. Amy's laugh was contagious. Her friendship has always been cherished and her spirit will remain irreplacable. When I think of my friend Amy, I will always smile.

I remember barcoding with Amy at the Thomas Jefferson Library. No one could pass barcodes like Amy Arnott. And she really made the time fly by. I remember she trained us on our first electronic catalog (LUMIN). I remember she helped merge the Health Sciences Library from the Marillac Chapel into the Barnes Education Library. She invited my son to see her production of The Importance of Being Earnest because he had played the Rev. Chausable at his high school. Amy had a great way of assuring people that they were doing a good job. Mistakes were not important events. Amy could get more out of you than you knew you had. She was never surprised when you gave your best effort, but always gratified when you did.
