Dennis Yanchick Obituary

Age 60. Went home to be with the Lord Friday, April 13, 2007, surrounded by his family, following his battle with cancer. Although he

was a welder throughout his career, including eight years at Material Services Corporation, he always considered his work for the Lord to be his true vocation. He served with the United States Navy from 1965-1969, and attended Olivet Nazarene University. He was a member of Joliet First Church of the Nazarene. Dennis treasured, as a special gift, the outpouring of love and prayers he received during his illness, and this continues to sustain the family at this time.

Surviving are his beloved wife of 27 years, Kathleen (nee Taylor) Yanchick; three children, David Jon (Laura) Yanchick, Stephen Jon (Aubree) Yanchick and Sarah Kathleen Yanchick all of Joliet; his mother, Mabel Yanchick of Joliet; three sisters, Evelyn Joy Stahl, Mary Ellen Yanchick and Caryl Padilla; one sister-in-law, Margaret Yanchick; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his father, Rudolph "Rudy" Yanchick; and one brother, David Allen Yanchick.

Dear Kathy and Family,
It is with great sadness that I heard of the loss of your husband and father, Dennis. He was a blessing to so many and God used him greatly to bless and inspire those who knew him. I am one of those who's life was touched by this man of grace and lovingkindness. May you be comforted now in knowing that Dennis is enjoying the reward that the Father has prepared for him in heaven.

Denny, although I know that you are finally home and at peace (probably fishing, eating lobster and imagining that the Cubs have won the World Series), I am so incredibly sad. I cannot imagine the world without you. Your unique humor and spontaneity were endearing to all those who knew you. You made a difference in my life and the lives of my family. Denny, you have given and taught me so much and my life has taken a different path because of you. God put you, Kathy, David, Stephen & Sarah in our path and we were given the special gift and privledge to be a part of your lives. The memories we created will be cherished and help to ease the hurt that overwhelms us. I know that we will meet again someday. As Rob said, "jimmy the back door" for us and we will all meet in heaven. All my love and prayers...Belin
