I am 25 and Yvonne has known me since I was 3, because she and my father were co-workers for over 20 years. Throughout my years in elementary and high school, I always admired her charm and professionalism. As a student and part-time employee at SCC, I valued her passion for education, her committment to excellence, and dedication to her work. I will miss seeing her in the Library, with her beautiful smile, and asking me "how is school going?" She always had time to listen to my adventures in college and congratulate me on accomplishments. As my role model, her spirit will remain perpetual through students like me, whom she inspired and mentored.

Yvonne,
You were one of the kindest spirits I've ever known, brought into my life much too late. You saw something in me and took a chance that has changed my life forever. Though I could never repay you, I still wish I had the opportunity. I'll always be grateful and will carry a piece of your courage and grace in my heart. You have taught me that life is here to be lived with enthusiasm and a smile, in spite of our own circumstances. My thoughts and prayers are with your husband and family.
Farewell, brave and gracious soul.

Yvonne provided leadership and instruction for faculty throughout the state in the same kind, gentle and gracious way in which she approached everything and everyone. I learned much from Yvonne and feel privileged to have had Yvonne as a good friend and a colleague.

Yvonne was such a cheerful presence in the SCC Learning Resource Center. She was a great resource and support person for the college's 90th anniversary history book, which was completed late last year. She attended the opening kickoff for the anniversary last fall and was delighted to see the history book project finished. Truly, without her support of the Special Collections Room in the Learning Resource Center, the project could not have been completed. We will miss her ready smile and kind words here at City College.

I cannot tell you how sad I was to hear earlier today of Yvonne's passing. I met Yvonne in 1989 when we were both working in Tutorials at different colleges. What a surprise it was to meet her again in 2000 working in Los Rios. She was a wonderful colleague.

May it comfort you to know that so many people care and are thinking of you and your family at this time. Yvonne was such a wonderful person, and so many people will miss her. Many have danced this dance called LIFE... but none with her gentle grace. Z najglebszym wspólczuciem, ze czas przyniesie wam pokój.
