Michelle Goodrich Obituary

GOODRICH, Michelle
Elizabeth
Born November 21, 1953. Entered into rest on June 25, 2006. She is survived by her loving Rob Wooliscroft, and her daughters Karyn (Mike Wilbur) and Lanissa (Willie Spencer). Grandmother of Nathan, Anna, Samuel, Abby, Sara and Ryan. She was a generous and talented person who was many things to many people. "Michelle" to her friends, "Micki" to those who knew her longest, "Grandma Micki" to the grandbabies and "Mandarin Meg" to bloggers worldwide. She started her career with the State of California, and this career path led to her passion for the web and helping thousands create their sites. She was known throughout the world for her helpful tips and assistance on her Mandarinde sign.com. Michelle loved to create things - whether a blog, a painting or music. She was an avid gardener who could and would make everything grow. There was no need to call a florist, as you could go pick in her garden. She never turned away from a stranger and was always friendly and helpful. She would give you all she had to give at any time. She was truly loved and will be deeply missed. Family and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Friday, June 30, 2006 at 3:00 PM at River Cities Funeral Chapel, 910 Soule Street, West Sacramento, CA. 95691. There is no "Lieu of flowers", Mom just loved flowers too much.

Rob, Karyn, and Lanissa,

My thoughts and prayers are with you. Micki was a wonderful person who will be missed by many. We attended school together and both worked for the State. I last saw her at a get-together at a mutual friend's home a few years ago. She was bubbly and full of life. I will remember her that way.

I knew Meg from online for the past 4 or 5 years. She was a real class act and gained so much respect from bloggers the world over. I think we all learned a lot from her but what I loved best was her unbridled generosity and compassion for others.

Rob, Karyn & Lanissa - I knew her as Micki - one of the long time friends. Micki and I worked together in ED&R in the late 1970's. She was a wonderful person. I'm very sorry to hear of your loss. We had so much fun. Recently, we have just exchanged Chirstmas cards and e-mails on her birthday. As most of us will feel - I wish that I had stayed in closer contact. It sounds like her life was full and I know she loved all of you and her grandbabies very much. My prayers are with you.

I worked with Micki back in the late 70’s. During those days she once convinced me to go with her and first husband Dennis to see an Alice Cooper concert. I was dubious of Alice’s music, but Michelle had a way of convincing me so I went. It was a great time. At the time besides being coworkers we were both fledging guitarists. It’s good to know she never put the guitar down. I never forgot her through all these years and was lucky to have known her.

I thought the world of your mother and still do. One of her online friends, we have shared the blogspace for many years. She was always the first to have the creative, stylish ideas the rest of us hadn't even thought of. She was everone's teacher. It is hard to accept that her online voice is gone--harder to accept that she is gone. My thoughts are with her children and grandchildren.
