In 1979 we had just started up the Roseville division in our first temporary build RA when Lynda McBain (later Feit) came in said she had someone in the lobby that I must interview. Now. I asked to see her resume. UC Davis, English major. I told Lynda I only wanted to see certain majors and English wasn´t one of them. Lynda said: "trust me and meet Jacque Solt now." She was so impressive that I wanted to hire her on the spot. The materials department was small, but I see posts from Steve Schloss, Dave Pratt, Kerry Potter and Rick Zampell. I apologize for this post being 29 years too late. Jacque, you were one of a kind.

Jacque and I were close friends in our early 20s when we both worked at the State Board of Equalization in Sacramento. She's been on my mind, so I looked for her on the internet a few months ago. It's taken me some time to accept that this is the Jacque Solt I was looking for--and that she's gone. I can only think of her as vibrant, laughing, smart in everything, and full of life. I lost touch with her in 1979. I hope she had a good life. I remember being at her mom's house learning to make lemon meringue pie on a hot summer day, the meringue sweating and melting on the pie. I remember laughter and love and good talks there always and am very sorry for all her family members and friends who have lost such a vital presence. When I think of Jacque, I think "bright, interesting, confident, joyous, and good."

I too just learned of Jacque's passing. I was a consultant with Jacque at HP and enjoyed her humor, professionalism and no-nonsense approach to business. Though I hadn't been in touch in recent years, I still remember fondly our lunches and and greatly appreciated her incredible gift of mentoring women. She is greatly missed by so many.

I just learned of Jacque's passing. I was her Operations Manager at Dynamic Management and owe much of my overall business confidence to her remarkable gift for mentoring women. I often recall our cross country seminar travels and her humor and professionalism and can still picture her as though it was yesterday. My apologies for not maintaining a closer connection, the world is a much duller place for the loss of such brilliance.

Just today I heard of Jacque Solt's passing, from a mutual friend at HP-Fort Collins. We had been out of touch for many years, and this was quite a shock. I still to this day tell the story of Jacque being "the best professional Manager I have ever had" ... Jacque knew the secret ... make your employees successful (often by removing roadblocks they could not remove themselves), and you too will be successful. A simple and straightforward approach that helped me add value to HP Workstation Group as a young Product Manager. This management style is rarely seen in high-tech, and to this day, now 23 years out of grad school, I have never seen anyone as good as Jacque was at managing with this style.

I was saddened to hear of Jacque's passing at the HP 25th Anniversary party in Roseville yesterday. We worked together under Dave Jansen when the site first started up. My condolences to her family, her children and Duncan. She was always so full of life and laughter!

I am shocked and saddened to hear this news. Jacque and I worked together at HP RND in the Materials organization for the two years I was at the HP Roseville site. She was as passionate about her job and especially managing and developing her people as anyone I have ever been associated, past or present. If you worked for Jacque you were impacted for the rest of your career. If she worked for you then you were challenged to be the best manager you could be. Bottomline: everyone who came in contact with Jacque is a better person today. My sincere condolences to the family---you are all in my prayers.

Prayers go out to the family. Jacque was my manager back in the early days in Roseville. She was one of my best managers. She was a great person to work for and she really cared about people. Her management style was the true HP WAY. She will be missed.

Jacque was the recruiting manager at HP-Roseville for our mutual alma mater, UC Davis, and was the first person I interviewed with when I was hired at the HP Roseville site. I distinctly remember her warmth, professionalism, and cheerful personality, and the enthusiasm which she exhibited in encouraging me to accept the offer from HP. I send my deep sympathies to her children, family, and to Duncan Campbell.

I was absolutely shocked and saddened when I heard that Jacque has pasted away. Jacque was my cousin and she and her brothers and sisters, (Ed, Liz, Donna, Mary & Charlie) grew and my brothers and sisters (Colleen, Karyn, Kim & Kevin) grew up together. Our familys used to get together on almost all of the major holidays during our childhood years.
Jacque always had a great sense of humor, laughed alot (she had a great laugh) and was always giving me a hard time! She was very smart and always cared for others.
As we grew older, all of us went our own directions and we did not see much of each other. We always kept tabs on one another through Jean (Jacque's mother) and my mother, Joanne. Regretfully, the last time we saw Jacque was at her Mother's birthday over 3 years ago.
I know she is in a great place now, and I pray for her boys, Duncan, my Aunt Jean and all of my cousins.

We are quite saddened by the news. Will miss afternoons by the pool talking business and careers. You gave many people including the boys, Gretchen, and myself a great role model to follow.

Although many years have passed, Jacque left a lasting impression on all of us. We all worked together in the early days of starting the HP site in Roseville. We shared many special moments during that time. My deepest sympathies to Jacque's entire family especially to Trevor and Colin. I am sure this has been hard on their Dad, Duncan, too.

Very sad to hear this news. What a "fireplug" in the early procurement days of HP in Roseville. All my best to her family and especially the children.
