Bobbie was my cousin, who followed her dreams and became a dancer. We were all so proud of her, and when she built her dance studio, it was a great new chapter of her life. I'm so sorry she left us so early. We all miss her.

I just found this today and am heartbroken. I will never forget what Bobbi taught me in ballet and in discipline. I was only able to learn from her for a short time, but it was monumental in my dance life. Thank you, Bobbi! <3

I spent most of my evenings and Saturday mornings in my teens and then in my early twenties when home from college at The Ballet Studio. Few things in life have compared to the joy and peace I discovered during that time. I am grateful to have wonderful memories of Bobbi, shared with many students from the studio. Amazed by the devotion she gave to each class and to ballet as a whole – she exemplified classical ballet as it was meant to be. She emphasized pure technique, artistry, and professionalism no matter one’s age or body type or level of ability. Bobbi believed in our best and expected nothing less without saying a word. Her smile lit up a room - kind, gentle, and steadfast. Pachelbel’s Canon will always be a comfort to me as I am reminded of the happiness I felt as it played on a record player at the beginning of almost every class, and Bobbi proudly and gracefully standing in the door frame, admiring her students lined up along the barre preparing for plies. Her warm spirit and her love of ballet will endure in the hearts of her friends, family, and students.

Bobbi and I roomed together in NYC. I learned so much from her about housecleaning, ballet, music, Christian Science. We had lost touch in the last few years. The thought came to me to look her up. So I went on the internet October, 2006 and the first thing that came up was her obituary. I am so sad that I lost touch with her. She was a wonderful person. I am grateful that the lovely qualities she possessed and herbeauty will never die.

I studied with Miss Bobbi my senior year of high school. After my first year of college I realized I had better get myself back into her studio! She was always welcoming when we returned. Her studio was the sactuary away from school and personal life. After I graduated with my undergraduate degree I set my sights on a grad program in dance. Miss Bobbi pushed me, in every way- to go across the floor faster and farther and she pushed me to broaden my abilities. I doubt I would have reached my goals in life thus far if it hadn't been for Miss Bobbi. I was honored with the stories she told me of her dance experiences, warning me of the pitfalls of teaching dance, and her basic teaching style. I will hold tightly onto the memories I have of her, especially after the beginning ballet classes on Saturday mornings-she talked to me as a peer and gave me teaching advice. I will always long for those Saturday summer morning I used to have with her.

I've known Miss Bobbi all my life. I grew-up in the studio, and started taking Ballet when I was four. I was about to start point, when Miss Bobbi got sick, and when I heard that she had passed away, I was devistated. Miss Bobbi will be remembered in all our hearts forever.

Having just today received the dreadful news of the passing of our beloved ballet teacher, I am stunned to think about the huge change in the lives of her loyal students. Having danced with Bobby for the past 20 years her classes were the part of the day I most looked foreward to. I rarely missed them. Bobby had such integrity, commitment and passion for ballet and each class was instructive but fun. The darkest days would always be lightened by escaping into the movement and the music. Bobby could be strict and unyielding in her rules but she was never unkind or unfair and we respected and loved her.

Miss Bobbi will live forever through us. Our memories of her will keep her near for she has touched each of our lives in a magical way. She has given parents and students alike a part of her, her love of ballet. After I told my daughter that Miss Bobbi has gone to heaven and will watch her dance from above, she said, "Miss Bobbi will watch me dance, and say 'it was beautiful.'"
She will continue to smile down on us and watch her students grow in her one true passion. And even though God has called her home to dance for Him, saying to her, "you have touched and left all the impressions on my children that you were suppose to down on earth, I have brought you home now to instruct my angels in heaven." So smile when you dance or watch your children dance, for Miss Bobbi will be watching us with her angels from the heavens above.

I came to Bobbi's studio over twenty years ago thinking I could dance.....she showed be I was wrong. Technique. It's a simple word that describes many other words. Bobbi's Studio became my refuge, the place where mental pain could be freed from by body while at the same time rejoicing in the beauty of it all...I am recovering from knee surgery and am slowly trying to work my way back in...I will be there again, Bobbi...because your memory is too strong and your heart and soul too loving for me to stop now...and because we will always be "Bobbi's Girls."

Bobbi's legacy lives on in each dancer that had the privilege of being her student. She was exactly what a perfect ballet teacher should be - a master of dance posture and technique, precise and firm in her instruction, yet kind at heart. She was a professional in every sense of the word. Bobbi will continue to live on in each and every one of us. Thank you Bobbi for reviving the dancer in me.

I learned ballet from Bobbi as an adult in the late 90's. What a joy. She took my learning so seriously even though we both knew I would never perform. After moving to San Francisco I never found another instructor like Bobbi. She was one of a kind. I was so spoiled by her high standards and patient, cheerful instruction. Bobbi and I kept in touch over the years. Her letters were always a breath of fresh air. She prayed for me and encouraged me. She loved the Lord. I know she's dancing for him now. I can only imagine his smile. I'll miss you Bobbi! You're a very special person.

Bobbi was a brilliant analytical ballet teacher and role model. I loved her classes, her long adagios, her method and learned so much from her. Diehard balletomanes wondering what the more womanly figured Paris Opera and Maryinski ballerinas of the 19th century really danced like should have had the pleasure like I did of watching Bobbi's sparkling petit allegro, beautiful battus and elegant Romantic style in the 1980s when she was still taking class. Always perfect make-up and that smile! I am terribly saddened to see this important mentor and link in the intergenerational ballet chain broken in mid-life. We who knew her will never forget her - or her big stack of old 33 rpm records, such as ragtime pianist JoAnne Castle (of The Lawrence Welk Show fame) playing "Yellow Rose of Texas" lickety-split while we were dying for that bottle of water she would not allow us because "ballet class should be like wilderness survival training." Thank you, Bobbi, for sharing your inner strength with us. We will forge on without you somehow.

I can't believe she's gone. I had the privilege of being her student for 8 years. She was a gifted teacher with exacting standards but with patience and understanding. She touched the lives of every dancer she trained in ways well beyond simply teaching us to dance. I carry her lessons with me still. May God welcome her Home and give peace to those she left behind.
