Like many others who have signed this book, I didn't know Ken for a long time or extremely well. But my first encounter with him shows his love of people and his great kindness. He talked to me in his enthusiastic, booming voice, laughed his infectious laugh, put his arm around my shoulder and said

Dear Jody and Olsen family, I was so sorry to hear of your loss. I was not able to speak to you the day of the funeral and have tried contacting you without any luck. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help at this time. You are in my prayers!

My heart is heavy at the loss of a dear friend, and brother in pain. Though it is hard to know he's moved on, try to remeber that he will be waiting with open arms to great his loved ones on those white shores. May the fond memories, in time, replace the sadness you feel today, and may you laugh and bask in the love and lesson's he's left for you.

Zero's from now on my Brother...

I remember chatting with Ken many a sleepless night online. He was always there to lend an ear, and inspired me in many ways. He was both a good friend and a brother in arms against the cluster headaches.

God rest you Ken. Peace is finally with you now.

Please accept our deepest condolences for your loss at this time. This loss comes at an especially difficult time when the mourning and greaving is still going on with the death of his grandmother, Romania. We are all praying for you that the Lord will sustain you in this time of grief. Cling to memories, especially the good ones. Remember the Eternal Plan of Happiness and that we will, once again, be able to see him again and rejoice in the journey on this earthly plane. May we leave you with this message:

Life is but a stopping place,

A pause in what's to be,

A resting place along the road

To sweet eternity.

We all have different journeys,

Different paths along the way,

We all are meant to learn some things,

But never meant to stay…

Our destination is a place

Far greater than we know.

For some, the journey's quicker,

For some, the journey's slow.

And when the journey finally ends,

We'll claim a great reward

And find an everlasting peace,

Together with the Lord.

As your loved one

Enters the gates of heaven,

May God's gentle peace

Comfort your heart.

In this time of saddness, remember that he is free of the limistations of this life and body. Ken is free to journey and touch even more lives then he did while he was on this plane. Ken is free of the pain that was such a large part of this life. That he can now watch over everyone who was a part of his heart and soul.

Blessed be,

Even thought I only knew Ken from a message board on clusterheadaches, I found myself admiring this gentlemen and sharing in his excitement for his work, even while having to suffer with such pain like he did. My deepest sympathies to his family & friends left behind, and I hope you will take some sort of comfort in knowing he is at peace, wherever that may be.

There are absolutly no words that could sum up a person like Ken's life, Its just impossiable. A man who touched so many asked for so little and gave so much. Ken was a man who shared his life with others because he wanted them to know what it was like to be truly happy. The world has lost a man with an amazing amount of talent, and we will never be able to replace him. Despite popular belief I think his best work is still yet to come. Through his students, children and everyone he cared for. Ken you will be missed deeply, thank you for everything that you taught me, about the industry, about life, and make-up.

I will always look back on the time when I had Ken as a teacher. He was not only good at helping people improve, but he was an amazing friend as well. There have been a few people during my life that have moved on, but their memory stays with me. Ken is one of those people. I will always remember him for the difference he made to me, and the impact he had on my high school years. He was the best teacher and the best friend that I could have ever asked for. He will me missed.

Ken was a pleasure to work with at the school because I could tell he had a passion for what he did and the students loved his classes. Ken was a good friend to me at work. He frequently came to my room to tell me about his newest movie idea or to show off some cool make up stuff he did on students. He was so talented and creative. He also always talked about his kids. He loved them so much and bragged about their newest accomplishments. Ken sacrificed for others. He was always looking for ways to help. He had a huge heart and is someone I will never forget. He will be missed here on earth, but I know that Heavenly Father is grateful to have him home again. He will continue to bless lives. We love you Ken.

Ken committed so much of his time to so many people in that it left him only the time in the wee hours of the night to do many of his personal things. Others always came first and he would always at the drop of a hat be there to help. You were and still are a good friend. I know that one day we will be able to sit down and laugh again. Perhaps nothing is so fitting as a tribute to your make-up talents that one of the last pairs of hands to prepare you for us to say goodbye would be those of a make-up artist.

I just wanted to express my sympathy to Ken's family. You all don't know me but I went to school with Ken while he went to UVCC. I worked with him during Pippin. He was always a cheerful force and delight to be with.

My favorite memory of Ken was when he made a few of us mold our faces so he could make masks. It was quite a weird feeling to breath through a straw only! It was obvious he had a gift and a love of stage makeup and design. In addition to this gift, Ken always had a listening ear and was a true friend.

I will truly miss him. All my love and prayers at this time, Misti (White) Haslam

My favorite memories of Ken are seeing him with his children and doing makeup at EHHS. Ken loved being with his children and seemed to always have a camera waiting to take their picture. At school, he loved being with the students and helping them create their fantasy with makeup. Ken was a gifted and talented man. I will miss his deep and vibrant laugh. May your family be comforted knowing he is in

Heaven and out of the discomfort that seemed to plague him for years.
