Doris A. Childress

Doris Ann Bullock Childress Beloved wife of Robert Dudley Childress, mother of David Childress of Fort Worth, TX, Kathy Barton of Troy, MI, and Nancy McDonald of Austin TX, grandmother of Elizabeth, Mark, Michelle, Laura, Andrew, Kathryn, David, Kelsey, and Cade, great-grandmother of Carolyn and Peyton. Doris was born July 21, 1929, in Rosedale, MS. She was married to Robert Dudley Childress on June 4, 1949 in Jackson, MS. After many years with the USAF, the family settled in San Antonio TX, where they were active members of Northeast Baptist Church for more than 35 years. Doris was also a tax preparer and office manager for H&R Block for 22 years. Doris loved her family dearly and set a pure example of the love Paul describes in 1st Corinthians, a love that always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. She was a devout believer in the Great Commission to go ye therefore and make disciples of all nations. Therefore, if you would like to honor Doris in some way, the family suggests a donation to the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association or the Lottie Moon Christmas offering.
