Dear David, "Uncle Bear"
You died July 13, 2008 and we're just now getting around to making a formal announcement about it. You see, I think we've been praying this has been just a bad dream, but it's not.
We've been grieving in many different ways. We're sad, angry, confused, lonely, numb and we've got questions with no real answers. We'll just have to stand in a place of trust that you are no longer in pain.
We know that the storm clouds will move in at times, and we'll shed tears for our loss, but the sun will shine again and we'll remember the dad, the son, the husband, the brother, the fisherman, the artist, the friend, the man.
We will hold a space of forgiveness, compassion and love for you in our hears and minds forever David.
David is survived by his father Jim Kendall, his brother J.K. Kendall, Dana Kendall, David's fellow traveler and the mother of his son. He is also survived by the two great loves of his life, his son Joshua Jamison Kendall and the "Albato Blanco." He leaves many family members and friends that miss him very much. Sweet sailing Uncle Bear.
A celebration of David's life will be held Saturday September 13 at the Santa Cruz Yacht Club from 12-2 pm.

To the family of Dave- I only spent a short time with Dave however we had alot of fun together and he was a great friend and neighbor. The day we lost Dave was a true nighmare. Each and every day I wish I would see him drive by with the smile and the wave. I wish all his family the very best and especially Josh. Dave will allways share a special place in my heart.
