Daniel N. Deyarmin Jr. made a living fixing cars, from coupes to trucks. He sometimes drove sporty cars in fellow Marines' funeral processions. So his family honored Deyarmin's love by driving some of his favorite cars in the young man's funeral procession, including a 1985 Monte Carlo with his teething marks in the dashboard. Deyarmin, 22, of Tallmadge, Ohio, died Aug. 1 in an ambush outside Haditha. A 2002 high school graduate, he was assigned to Brook Park. "The phrase that keeps coming to mind when I think of Nate is `likable.' He was just a soft-spoken, polite, low-maintenance type of guy," said Don Duffy, his high school counselor. Deyarmin's co-workers remembered a driven man. "So many times we would be working on something, and I would want to go to bed and get some sleep, but Nate would not let me," Eddie Papp said. "He would make me push myself to go a little longer." He is survived by his parents, Edie and Daniel. His sister, Erica, said if her brother had one last request, it would be this: "After leaving here, hug your family. Make someone laugh. And help a friend, neighbor or a perfect stranger."
