Sean M. Langley was the kind of guy who wore his uniform to the grocery store. He once asked friends to splatter pepper spray in his face just to prove he could take it. That last stunt angered his stepmother, even though she recognized a fearlessness in Langley. "I made him stand in the shower for 45 minutes," she said. "He was a rascal but was very loving." Langley, 20, of Lexington, Ky., died Nov. 7 during fighting in Anbar province. He was based at Camp Pendleton, Calif., and was on his second tour of Iraq. Langley''s parents are both police officers in Lexington and he wanted to follow in their footsteps. He enlisted in the Marines on the Saturday after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, said his father, Bill Langley. His brother, Matt Langley, 19, recalled a game he and his brother used to play several years ago that indicated his future career. "He and I would dress up in fatigues and we would try to find each other in the woods," he said. Langley also is survived by his mother, Patricia Langley. "He was a wonderful son and I am endlessly proud of him," Bill Langley said.
