†Army Spc. Ricky W. Rockholt Jr. Ricky Rockholt Jr. had an idyllic childhood _ building forts in the woods, fishing and riding four-wheelers with kids from his three-room schoolhouse. "It was a magical place to grow up as a kid," said Peggy Koch, office manager at Diamond Lake Resort, where Rockholt''s father works. Rockholt, 28, of Winston, Ore., was killed April 28 by a roadside bomb in Tal Afar along with three other soldiers. He was based at Fort Carson. Just before Christmas, the big guy with a wide grin secretly wed his longtime girlfriend, Sheridan L. Begley. He planned to tell his parents when he got back from Iraq. Rockholt hoped to use veteran''s benefits to launch an auto customization business, his father said. Friend Dustin Lookabaugh said Rockholt "could talk with someone 70 just as easily as someone 16" and was always cheery. "Even if he was having a bad day, where a motor blew up on him or something else, he''d never show it," Lookabaugh said. "He was never in a bad mood." He enlisted in the Army two years ago "to find himself," his wife said. "He was a better man and a better person. He had found what he was looking for."
