I couldn't sleep. Your message last week resonates in my heart and soul Liana. God brought me here and the tears flow for the loss of such a kind beautiful soul. For the boys. For you. For Richard. My last memory of him was sitting so lovingly with you, just genuinely happy and in love. Smiling next to the love of his life, emanating radiant vibes. We lost an incredible man, hero yet gained an Angel.
Blessings and so much love to you four.

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.

Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.

I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON, a dear family friend who joined the Army with three other friends, one of whom is my son (Le Ron was killed in action on 07/06/07 at the age of 18) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.

REST IN PEACE, HERO, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!

Dear Family-

I know that it is extremely late to be finding out about Richard's death but I was out of the city for the last 5 years, and sadly I am just now learning about Richard's death through a close HS friend of ours. I am so sorry about your lose and my heart goes out to you and all of your family. He was always so brave to me and for him to fight for our country he will always be a hero to me. I will keep you in my prayers and in my heart. Richard was a dear friend of mine and HS and I will never forget him. May God be with you and your family and help heal any pain or sorrow that may still be in your heart. The Lord be with you during the holidays.

Dear Mrs. Crane, Mateo, Michael, Ricky, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Crane, and Madison,

I recently read about the loss of your loved one who was serving our nation in Iraq. May I offer my belated condolences to you all upon the passing of your American hero husband/Daddy/son, and brother, Richard, in February.

Please know that other Americans share in your loss and are concerned. It is my prayer that God may continue to grant you and your loved ones an extra measure of peace, comfort, and strength during this difficult time.

May Richard's legacy of bravery and devotion to country and its safety be as source of pride to your family, an inspiration to his peers, and forever remembered by a grateful nation.

His sacrifice for freedom's sake is not unlike those patriots of yesteryear who gave their all in places with such names as Westport, Ardennes Forest, Normandy, Inchon, and Pleiku.

Sincerely, with deepest sympathy,

Susan Johnson

Susan:

We first met while students at Bryant Elementary. It's hard to imagine so much could have happened to us since then. In your loss I hope your family will cherish the all the good your son has done, and that he'll be remembered by so many.

Susan, our paths have not crossed since our 1972 high school graduation from William Chrisman. You probably don't remember me - I was Donna Wallace, served as student body president. I remember you.

The news of your loss came to me this week and I had to write to you and your family to share my most sincere and deep sympathy. My husband and I are very strong supporters of our military and extremely proud of the job our men and women are doing in these difficult places. My own brother served in the heat of Vietnam, came home to a country filled with protestors. That will never happen in my family.

Recently, I was flying home to KC and while waiting for my plane, a dozen or so young military men and women deboarded. Instantly and instinctively I jumped to my feet and began applauding them - the entire lobby joined in. I felt so proud! I know you must be as well.

You have suffered a terrible loss and you and your family have my prayers for God's presence, healing, and loving touch while you readjust. I would strongly encourage your family to purchase the option to keep this guest book online permanently. We did when we lost my father this year and it is comforting to return to these pages, read what others share, and continue to share our own hearts. Most sincerely, Donna

Liann, Mike & Susan, we were so very saddened by your loss. Richard was a wonderful young man. He was like another son to me. As a matter of fact, he called me mom whenever he saw me. I will miss those hugs and that wonderful smile. If there were more young men like him around, this world would be a much better place. We will all miss him, but how blessed it is...... He went to sleep at night and woke up in Glory! What an awesome blessing from the Lord! To go to sleep and wake up in the presence of the Lord is the desire of my heart! Just know that you all have been in our prayers and will continue to be. If we can do anything, please let us know. We love you all and will miss Richard greatly.

My husband called me from Afghanistan right after they held Richard's memorial in Bagram with the 325th. We both grieve for your loss, for Richard to have passed so soon in his life, so soon before their possibly coming home, so soon in his sons' lives and your marriage, just so soon. I shed many tears for you on that morning, and will shed more with you at the service stateside.

Please know you are in the hearts and prayers of many who you've never met, and a couple who would have loved to have known you better.

What a tragedy for this family. Jesus, cover their sacrifice with your precious blood. There, but for thy grace, go I.

Bless you all.
