Richard Charlebois Obituary

Ocala, Fla. Richard O. Charlebois Jr., born June 19, 1944, in Brockton, Mass., passed away June 1, 2008, at the Legacy House in Ocala. Richard was a son of Richard O. Charlebois Sr. and the late Shirley (Tetrault) Charlebois. Richard served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He retired from the U.S. Post Office in 2001 and moved to Ocala in 2004. He was a longtime member of the Club National in Brockton, where he served as treasurer for many years. While in Florida, he belonged to West Marion Moose and VFW Post 4781. He had a great love for sports, especially the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. He leaves behind a loving wife, Virginia; and two children, Pamela Ellis and her husband Billy of Ocala and Richard O. Charlebois III and his wife Kim of Brockton; two sisters, Linda Mondeau and her husband Jimmy of Raynham, Mass., Donna Nash and her husband Alan of New York; two brothers, Billy Charlebois of Brockton and John Charlebois of Wareham, Mass. Richard had three beautiful grandchildren that will miss their "Papa", Tayla Charlebois of Brockton, Matthew and Mackenzie Ellis of Ocala; along with many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in his memory to Hospice of Marion County, Legacy House in Ocala, at 9505 SW 110 St., Ocala, FL 34481. Visitation will take place at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, TimberRidge, Ocala, Thursday, June 5, from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. After the visitation, a funeral procession will be led to Florida National Cemetery, where a funeral service with military honors will take place at 11:30 a.m.
