Fred Corbitt Obituary

Las Vegas Fred W. Corbitt, of Las Vegas, formerly of Whitman, Mass., died June 1, 2008, in Las Vegas. He was 44. Born in Boston, Mass., a son of Elaine (Sullivan) and Wendell Newell of Bridgewater, Mass., he was raised in Whitman and was a 1982 graduate of Whitman-Hanson Regional High School. He worked for many years as a heavy equipment operator. He was the father of Jason Lane Corbitt of Las Vegas; brother of Brian Corbitt of Whitman, Michelle Drosos of Bridgewater and John Newell of Carver, Mass.; uncle of Peter, Lauren, Evan, Jenna and Sarah. Funeral from the Prophett Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St. (Rte. 18), Bridgewater, Tuesday at 9 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass in Holy Ghost Church, Whitman, at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Colebrook Cemetery, Whitman. Visiting hours are Monday from 4-8 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
