Ruth B. Hallgren

Middleboro Ruth B. (Keegan) Hallgren, 89, of Middleboro, formerly of Shrewsbury, died Thursday, June 12, in Nemasket Healthcare Center. Her husband, Everett C. Hallgren, died in 1992. She leaves her daughters, Carolyn J. of Massachusetts and Beverly M. of New York; four grandchildren, Beth E. of Massachusetts, Peter D. of Maine, Janet L. of Africa and Kristina K. of Ohio; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Her daughters, Marjorie L. and Vivian R., predeceased her. Ruth and her husband "Red" were former owners and operators of E.C. Hallgren Oil, Inc. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church for 60 years, serving as a deaconess and singing in the choir. The funeral service will be held Saturday, June 21, at 10 a.m. in Howard C. Allen Funeral Home, 653 Main St., Shrewsbury. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery. A calling hour will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, June 21, in the funeral home.
