Anne Doherty Obituary

Middleboro Anne M. (Young) Doherty, of Middleboro, and a longtime resident of Carver, died at her home in Middleboro, June 18, 2008, after a courageous battle with an illness, at the age of 45. She was the loving wife of James P. Doherty; mother of Michael J. Pierce and his wife Jill of Carver, Crystal Quinton and her husband Bruce of Spring Hill, Fla., and Christina A. Doherty of Middleboro and her partner Ronald Giovino of Medford; daughter of the late John G. Young and Doris (Young) Taylor and stepfather Paul C. Taylor; sister of Charles H. Young and his wife Donna of Brockton, Carol Nash of St. Albans, Vt., Marlene Roberg and her husband Ken of Fairhaven, John A. Young and partner Sally Unwin of Montgomery, Vt., Mark S. Young and wife Sharyn of Taunton. She is also survived by her greatest gift of the world, her grandson, Logan James Pierce; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Susan Barnes; her niece, Holly Anne Barnes; and her longtime companion, Bandit. Anne was born in Middleboro and was a longtime employee at the Home Health Care and Foster Parent for the Community Care program, where she was Foster Mother of the Year in May 1996 and finished her working career at Davita Kidney Dialysis Center of Weymouth. Calling hours will be held Sunday, June 22, 2008, from 4-9 p.m. at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 116 Main St. (Rte. 58), Carver. Family and friends are welcome to gather at the funeral home Monday, June 23, 2008, at 7:45 a.m. followed by a Mass at Our Lady of the Lake Church in Halifax at 9 a.m. Burial will be in Union Cemetery in Carver. Donations can be made to the Cancer Oncology Dept. at Jordan Hospital, 275 Sandwich St., Plymouth, MA 02360, or Cranberry Hospices, 36 Cordage Park Circle, Suite 326, Plymouth, MA 02360.
