Robert Crocker Obituary

Brockton Robert W. Lefty Crocker, 86, of Brockton, died July 10, 2008, at Nemasket Health Care Center after a period of failing health. He was the husband of the late Catherine E. (Brady) Crocker. Born in Keene, N.H., son of the late Robert and Alice (Willard) Crocker, he had been a longtime resident of Brockton. During World War II, he served in the Army Air Corps. During which time he played on their baseball team. In his younger years he played semi professional baseball for St. Margarets Church and tried out for the Athletics baseball team under Connie Mack. He also played hockey and coached Pop Warner Football. For many years he had been employed as a bricklayer for Union Local 5 in Brockton. He is survived by one daughter Judith Crocker of Wareham; two sons Robert P. of Taunton and Hugh J. of Lakeville; seven grandchildren; three brothers Robert, Alan and Roland Crocker; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Kenneth and Richard Crocker. Funeral from Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte. 123), Brockton, Tuesday, at 8 a.m. Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Lourdes Church at 9 a.m. Burial in Melrose Cemetery. Your Grandfather. So Many good memories of Lefty. Hold Onto them.Remember In the 80's when Nikki wrote "LEFTY RULES" on her Book covers at B.H.S.? I Believe It turned Into a fad that year.Thats the Impact he had on people.He Certainly lived a fullfilled life. He's now at peace. No More Pain...
