Ruth von Magnus Obituary

Wareham Ruth Leni (van Tubergen) von Magnus, 85, of East Wareham, died Sunday, July 6, 2008. She was the wife of the late Boris von Magnus. A daughter of the late Jakobus and Margarethe van Tubergen, she was born and raised in Apolda, Holland, moved to Brockton in 1952, where she was active for 20 years in the church and community. Ruth and Boris moved to North Conway, N.H., where they owned the Tanglewood Motel, until retirement, then moved to Wareham in 1979. She had a big love for German Shepherds, loved her gardening, was an avid reader and a great cook. She is survived by three sons, Lutz of St. Petersburg, Fla., Bjorn of Wareham and Sven of Brockton; a daughter, Kyra Daugirda of Halifax; a brother, Robert Morgan of Reading, Calif.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Services will be private. Arrangements by Chapman, Cole and Gleason Funeral Home, Wareham.
