Sally G. Holland

Eagle Lake, Fla. Sally Gay (Grover) Holland, 72, died Sunday, July 6, 2008, at Winter Haven Hospital, Winter Haven. She was born May 6, 1936, in Brockton, Mass. She was a 1955 graduate of Whitman-Hanson High School and a 1957 graduate of Garland Junior College, Boston. She was a homemaker and a member of American Legion Auxiliary Unit 8, Winter Haven. Mrs. Holland was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Van Buren Grover. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Donald James Holland; two daughters, Traci Lynne Holland of Lakeland and Holly Sue Miller of Eagle Lake; and one grandson, Michael Holland of Lakeland. Also, her mother, Ruth Nickerson Grover of Halifax, Mass.; five sisters, Nancy Campbell of Bellingham, Wash., Susan Stevens of Vallejo, Calif., Meredith Weiss of Halifax, Joanne Frazier of Carver, Mass., and Ruth Ann Tremblett of Hanson, Mass.; and one brother, Peter Grover of Halifax; and aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Services were held Thursday, July 10, 2008, at the Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home, Winter Haven, Florida Chapel. A "Poppy Walk" in Sally's honor was held by members of VFW Post 4289, Winter Haven.
