Donald Loud Obituary

Brockton Donald H. Luddy Loud, 81 years, of Brockton, died Tuesday, July 22, 2008, at his home, after a lengthy illness. He was the husband of the late Maryanne (Bertocci) Loud. Mr. Loud was born in Brockton, a son of the late Herman and Florence (Smith) Loud, and remained a lifelong resident of the city. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army in post war Germany. Following his discharge, he began a lengthy career with Campanelli Builders in Braintree. He retired as purchasing agent for the company. Upon his retirement, he was employed as a manager and dispatcher for Bourne Transportation. He enjoyed bowling and baseball and played in city leagues in those sports. He loved the Red Sox and playing cards with his family. Past member of the Walk Over Club, he also enjoyed Italian cooking for large groups and loved time spent with his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his children, Michael Loud and his wife Kellie of Brockton, Capt. Steven Loud, Brockton Police Dept., Donna Loud-Maguire of Brockton and Debra Loud-DeSouza and her husband Romulo of East Weymouth; two grandsons, Steven Loud Jr., Brian Loud; and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of Beverly Mackin of Brockton, Dorothy Bourne of Easton and Hazel Morse of Maryland and the late Stuart Loud, Louise Williams and Arlene Graham. Funeral service in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont St. (Rte. 123), Brockton, Saturday at 9:30 a.m. Burial in Calvary Cemetery.
