Diane M. Arruda

Taunton Diane M. (Soares) Arruda, in Dighton, July 31, 2008, died peacefully, at the age of 66, in her daughter's home, with her family by her side. She was the wife of the late Anthony Bz Arruda. Born and educated in Taunton, Diane was a daughter of Maria Sadie (Santos) Soares Shurtleff and the late Manuel Soares Jr. A resident of Taunton all her life, Diane resided on Bartlett Street and was formerly of Wilbur Street in Taunton. Diane was a retired attendant for Paul A. Dever State School in Taunton. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren, crocheting, shopping, casinos and bingo. Diane was the mother of Kim Arruda and her fiance Marty Pearson of Taunton, Anthony R. Arruda Jr. and his fiance Robin Hebert of Taunton, Diane Fluffy Medeiros and her husband George of Taunton, Kellie Barros and her husband Deraman and Bonnie Arruda and her fiance David Brien of Dighton; grandmother of four granddaughters and two grandsons; sister of Manuel Soares III of Easton and the late Debra Soares. Funeral from the OKeefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., in Taunton, Monday, Aug. 4, at 10 a.m. Funeral Mass at St. Anthonys Church in Taunton at 11 a.m. Calling hours will be Sunday from 12 p.m. to 3 pm.
