Norbert Duhamel Obituary

Easton Norbert Duke A. Duhamel, of Easton, died Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2008, at Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. He was 86 years old. He was born in Brockton, son of the late Adelard E. and Diana M. (Dupuis) Duhamel. He was the beloved husband of the late Grace C. (Reardon) Duhamel; loving father of Joanne England and her husband Kenneth of East Bridgewater and Lisa Duhamel of Millis; brother of Raymond Duhamel of Florida, Rita Pierini of Florida and the late Louis Duhamel, Leo Duhamel, Robert Duhamel, Arthur Duhamel, Doris Dyson, Florence Duhamel and Joseph Ed Duhamel; devoted grandfather of Shaun England, Christopher England, Cara OHanley and Andrew Irwin; great-grandfather of Kevin England, Megan England, Matthew England, Connor OHanley and Ava OHanley. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Duke was a World War II U.S. Army veteran who was awarded the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Liberation Ribbon World War II Victory Medal and Army Occupation Medal. He worked as the general manager for Alden Products in Brockton and was a professional assistant for the Copeland-MacKinnon Funeral Home in Easton. He was a member of the Easton Lions Club since 1957, where he served as past president and past Deputy District Governor for District 335. He was a member of the Easton VFW George Schindler Post 2547 and was the Grand Marshall of the 2005 Memorial Day Parade. Funeral from the Copeland-MacKinnon Funeral Home, 38 Center St., Easton, Monday, Aug. 11, at 8 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass at 9 a.m. in the Immaculate Conception Church, Main Street, Easton. Calling hours Sunday from 4-7 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Easton. Dear Duhamel and England families,
I am sorry to hear of your loss. "Grampy" Norbert will be terribly missed by all. I am blessed to have had the opportunity to know him. He was a sweet, caring man with a wonderful sense of humor and joy of life! Our thoughts and prayers go out to you.

Megan,Kevin,Cheryl and Shaun will miss you very much. We loved spending time with you. We will miss going to the park with you and tobey and the all of the fun we had when we saw you. Megan asks me if you are an angel and Kevin is worried you are going to miss your house. We were all blessed to have known you and continue to have you in our lives.

One day we will listen to those old recordings again Grampy. I'll miss you.
