With great sadness and a very heavy heart I learned today that Tom Petit is no longer physically with us - he was a true mentor to me and a blessed human... I loved his frankness, wit and charm - he always knew exactly what to say (whether I wanted to hear it or not) and he was always honest, kind and real. I feel truly blessed to have known him - his words and smile will always be with me...there isn't a day that goes by where I don't see some magical flicker of light and amazing spark of color in this country and stop and think of Tom - he is someone who could truly appreciate the spiritual & emotional significance of a place like this...but then again, I'm sure he is watching now and smiling.
Tom, thank you for everything. Jules

Mr. Petit,
Sir, I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served in the U.S. Army during the Cold War. Millions of Americans slept safe at night because you and your fellow servicemen stood ready to defend our Country. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.
