Stanley Levings Obituary

MASHPEE Stanley J. Levings, 89 of Mashpee, formerly of Rockland, died Sept. 21, 2008, at Falmouth Hospital. He was the husband of the late Delores (Bahr) for 53 years. Born and raised in Rockland, he moved to Mashpee, where he resided for 20 years. He served in U.S. Army during World War II. He was a past president of the Rockland V.F.W. He enjoyed fishing, boating and golf. Stanley is survived by a daughter, Barbara Bombard of Weymouth; his brother, Wendell Levings of Nova Scotia; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his daughters, Sharon Forbes and Jill Rowell. A Visitation will be held Tuesday, Sept. 23, from 5-7 p.m., in the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 74 Algonquin Ave., at Route 151, Mashpee. A funeral Mass will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the St. Jude Chapel of Christ the King Parish, 3 Jobs Fishing Road, Mashpee. Mr. Levings,
Sir, I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served in the U.S. Army during WW II and for being a member of the Greatest Generation. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.
