Edward LaRue Obituary

BRIDGEWATER Edward J. LaRue, 81, of Bridgewater, formerly of Brockton, died Thursday, Oct. 2, 2008, at Kindred Hospital in Stoughton. A son of the late Leo J. and Sarah G. (Hussey) LaRue, he was born in Brockton, July 26, 1927. He was raised and educated in Brockton and was a graduate of Mass Trade School. Mr. LaRue served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was later employed as an oil burner technician at CY Woodbury, retiring in 1982. He was the brother of the late Doris G. LaRue and is survived by many cousins. Funeral Mass Saturday at 9 a.m. in Holy Family Church, 403 Union St., in Rockland. Interment in Holy Family Cemetery. Eddie was a dear and close friend of mine (Marion and my late husband Bill Barbuto). Eddie and my late husband worked together for many years. He will be dearly missed. My heartfelt sympathy to family, and my thoughts and prayers to all.

I lived next door to him in Bridgewater for many years. He was the nicest man I believe I have ever met. He would do anything for anyone. He was a dear friend of my dad's. He will be sorely missed. Our deepest sympathies, thoughts and prayers to you at this most sad time.
