Mieko Houle Obituary

Mieko Houle BRIDGEWATER Mieko (Sato) Houle, of Bridgewater, died Sept. 30, 2008, at Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital, after a lengthy illness. Born in Kobe, Japan, she was a daughter of the late Mineo and Kikuko Sato. Mieko worked as a seam-stress in the garment industry for 40 years, retiring in 1998. She was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and was active in the Bridgewater Senior Center, including the Joy Group at the West Bridgewater Senior Center. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Robert D. Houle of Bridgewater; and her sister-in-law, Pauline Houle of Brockton. Calling hours are respectfully omitted and burial will be private. A memorial Mass will be celebrated in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 103 Center St., Bridgewater, Saturday, Oct. 25, at 9 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mieko's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1115 West Chestnut St., Brockton, MA 02301, or any affiliated hospice group.
