Marjorie Johnson Obituary

TAUNTON Marjorie T. (Chapski) Johnson, 93 years old, died peacefully, Oct. 11, 2008. Born in West Roxbury, daughter of the late Frank and Waleria (Wozniewski) Chapski, she was a graduate of Roxbury Memorial High School. A Taunton resident since 1956, she was communicant of Holy Rosary Church. She and her family owned and operated Johnsons Snack Bar in Raynham and Anthonys 88 Restaurant in Taunton. She loved to crochet and do crafts. She was the wife of the late Anthony Johnson; mother of former Taunton mayor, Richard Johnson, now of Sandwich, and his wife Karen and the late Anthony Tony Johnson; mother-in-law of Mildred Johnson of Taunton and former mother-in-law of Jean Johnson of Taunton; grandmother of Christine Garvey and her husband Mark of Tewksbury, Lynne McCarthy and her husband Thomas of Berkley, Jennifer Gwozdz and her husband mark of East Taunton, Elizabeth LeBlanc and her husband Michael of Taunton, Mark Johnson and his wife JoAnn of Denver, Jeffrey Johnson and his wife Rose of East Wareham, David Johnson and his wife Carol of Fairhaven and Benjamin Johnson of Sandwich; great-grandmother of Katelyn and Brian McCarthy, Andrew and Evan LeBlanc, Jennifer, Mark and Michael Johnson. Funeral, to which relatives and friends are invited to attend, will be held from the Sowiecki Funeral Home, 69 West Britannia St., Taunton, Friday at 9 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian burial in Holy Rosary Church, Taunton, at 10 a.m. Visiting hours Thursday 5-8 p.m. Interment in Westville Cemetery, Taunton. Donations in her memory may be made to Holy Rosary Church, 80 Bay St., Taunton, MA 02780.
